What this is all about

If you’re reading this then you probably know me, and if you’ve been paying really close attention you’ll probably have noticed that I disappeared off to Nepal about a year ago. What you may not know is that during the time I spent out there I kept a pretty detailed diary of everything that happened to me.

My plan for this blog is to write up the diary, include some of the pictures I took, and hopefully do some justice to what it was like to spend 3 months living in a rural village where no one speaks a word of english. Highlights include: working out how to use squat toilets, digging an 800m trench for a water pipeline with pickaxes and spades, and becoming about as close to a group of people as humanly possible.

Disclaimer: I don’t plan on editing out much of the gory details, so if you’re a member of my family or just have a particularly vivid imagination I’d advise not reading any further.
